Furniture Repair Technician

Job Purpose

Repair or refurbish damaged Furniture pieces such as casegoods, upholstery and mattresses/ box springs. The ideal candidate will be handy, have experience using power and hand tools and equipment and will be comfortable working in a warehouse environment. Experience with power tools is a must.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Inspecting furniture for defects, damage and missing parts.
• Repair wood furniture damaged such as chips, scratches, mares, abrasions, loose joints and cracks among others. Using;
  • Paint, stains, lacquers, sprays
  • Fill/ patch/ sanding
  • Replacement parts
• Upholstery repair damage such as core issues, fabric tears/ holes/ pilling and frames bent/ cracked/ warped. Using;
  • Compressed air nail/ staple gun
  • Replacement parts
  • Power (saws, drill, etc) and hand tools (screw drivers, wrenches, etc.)
• Replace part such as shelf clips, bolts, shelves, among others.
• Fill out paperwork as to the issue for each item and log time spent
• Housekeeping – maintain an organized and clean environment.
• Safety – Follow all safety rules and regulations. Use PPE when needed
• Other duties as assigned

Skills Required
The employee must have the ability to use hand, air, and powered tools.
Skills Preferred
Technical school or two years of related experience or equivalent combination of education or experience

$500 Sign-On Bonus after 30 days!
 

Working Conditions and Environment

This position requires varied hours, weekends and holidays. It’s usually moderately loud. Handling equipment and merchandise can be dirty at times. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
